Serener’s compact, lightweight Wendela barstool gorgeously unites materials and manufacturing techniques of different eras. The beech seat is created from a mold originally produced in the 1950s. It sits upon a contemporary aluminum base. Meanwhile, the visible connection between the seat and base references joinery used by carpenters for centuries.

Anyone who has tried a Wendela will tell you that it is exceptionally comfortable. It’s made from molded layers of beech, an approach that simultaneously gives the seat flexibility and support.
That line on the back of a Wendela seat gives you insight into our manufacturing process. The line marks the spot where the mold for the seat opens.
Christoph Seyferth, the visionary behind Serener, eschews the belief that good design must come from big egos. His products are humane and functional, designed for everyday use. Seyferth’s work has a certain timeless quality, referencing the integrity of thoughtful craftsmanship and celebrating the essence of pure materials like wood, leather, and steel.
